Quality in Early Learning and Child Care: Recommendations for Action
February 12, 2025: Following extensive consultation and a thorough review of research conducted in Alberta and elsewhere on quality in early learning and child care, the Edmonton Council for Early Learning and Care today released Quality in Early Learning and Child Care: Recommendations for Action. This in depth, evidence-based report provides a suite of priority actions to support system components contributing to high quality early learning and care that ensure:
Equitable financing and resource allocation
Strong governance and regulatory frameworks
Inclusive and safe environments
Professional learning for early childhood educators
Family and community engagement
Systemic monitoring, evaluation, and research
