Federal-Provincial Child Care Agreement – Stay Informed

On November 15, 2021, the Government of Alberta and the federal government announced the signing of a child care agreement that will provide $3.8 billion in funding over the next five years to reduce child care fees for parents to an average of $10/day, improve access, and increase quality in early learning and child care. The plan announced is yet to be fully detailed and will be developed over the next year. Children’s Services has indicated they will release information about the plan as it becomes available at the following site Federal-provincial childcare agreement | Alberta.ca.  Another source to keep informed is the Association of Early Childhood Educators of Alberta website which is posting update as information is provided by Children’s Services.
